My blog had this annoying pop up ads this past weeks, since last month I think, and the hardest part is that I don't even know where this unwanted pop up ads coming from.
Then, one of my blog affies, Julia , visited my blog and had read my past blog entry about this pop-up ads and told me she once had the same problem and suggested that I should delete "rankwidget" on my blog. For those who don't know rankwidget, rankwidget is a site that provides a code to be displayed on bloggers blog displaying the blogs Technorati, Alexa, Google PR, and Yahoo search inlinks of the blog.
And yes, as I read Julia's suggestion on my cbox, I immediately deleted the rankwidget code on my Tblog html section, viewed my blog, and noticed that the annoying pop-up ads, along with the text link ads were gone. A total pain.... in the butt?! If those are affiliate ads, I would say this widget is earning off our blogs by having this ads popping into our blogs against the blog owner's will. >.<
First days, and first months of the displayed rankwidget on blogs was fine, and then the day would come where all of a sudden ads would just appear on your blog and on your blog posts. These ads are Ad Clicksor ads. That's why I thought Ad Clicksor was to blame, and later laerned that my blog pop-up ads and text link ads was from the widget I inserted on my blog.
So, thanks Julia ^.^ If you didn't happen to visit my blog, I would still be dealing with those totally annoying ads. But there's still this one pop up ad I'm dealing with, the pop up that scans spyware and such on my blog. Everytime I view my blog, Norton "High Risk" warning appears. On the bright side, at least I only have one unwanted pop up ad to deal with.
So for those bloggers, who's having unwanted pop-ups on their blogs all of a sudden, and you have rankwidget installed in your blog, you might wanna get rid of the widget code to clean your blog's pop- ups and text link ads.

Urgh..... I wonder if its just me? or my blog visitors are experiencing it too? THAT ad pop up that popping on "chanter's blog place." This is an Ad Clicksor ad. And here's a story how it started..
I signed up for Ad Clicksor, a site that allowes bloggers/publishers to display ads on their blogs or sites. I just don't remember when, I think its last year's December month or this January of 2008. So I signed up, copy the ad code to be displayed here on my blog "Chanter's BLog Palce" and the other one "Enchanted Whistle." The day after I signed up, I had recieved an email from Ad CLicksor site stating that my blogs daily visitors are too low so I'm not going to be qualified to be an affiliate and to display thier ads on my blogs. So I deleted the Ad Clicksor codes on both of my blogs. What's the point od displaying an ad whre I'm not qualified, right? Weeks had passed, even months.
And then, on early March, I noticed pop up ads both on my blog. I'm pretty sure I had deleted the ad codes, and I even check ALL the codes on my HTML sections to make sure the Ad Clicksor code wasn't really there, and BINGO, I don't have any Ad Clicksor codes in there! Makes me wonder why all of a sudden Ad Clicksor pop ads would appear on my blogs.
So I went to the site, tried to log in my account, but I can't even remember my password/username, and my account ID. *sigh* I think I may have to live with it until I find my account ID.
So, if there's an annoying pop up here, sorry 'bout that >.< My mistake, and I had learned a lesson.
Cyber slapped? Yeah, we, bloggers being slapped by the big guy Mr. "G." Not all bloggers had experienced being cyberly slapped but most posties are, or those bloggers monitizing their blogs by means of sponsored posting. And the punishment? page ranks being down to zero. This blog has a PR of 2 before I did sponsored blogging and now had been down to PR0 until now, even my second Tblog blog "Enchanted Whistle" also had experienced the same thing. I also think it might probably the reason why I've been kicked out of bloggingads dot com. Awwww..... that really hurts.
It is true that page ranks being down to zero doesn't change or affect bloggers daily blog visitor or reader BUT, advertisers value the PR very much, I clearly don't understand why, while us posties, had lost our PR's by doing sponsored blogging for advertisers. *sigh* I just hope I get back my PR someday, someday.....
Another thing is, Mr. "G" is like the king of the cyber kingdom, using his power to cyber slapped bloggers doing S.P. And yes, it really affects us. I haven't recieved any opportunities for over a month, lolz.
